Top 50 Predictions: MLB's 2024-2025 Free Agent Class

Louis Oprisa November 27, 2024

After a one-year hiatus, MLB.com’s Kristopher Daly and I are back with our prediction of where this winter’s top 50 free agents will be signing.

Given that this project is a personal passion for both of us, and with all the uncertainty around the free agent pool in the early weeks of the offseason, we decided to release this in time for Thanksgiving. At this point, qualifying offers have been accepted/rejected, and the non-tender deadline has passed for arbitration-eligible players. The free agent market is now more or less finally set for the winter.

Unfortunately this means that we missed out on publishing this in time for Blake Snell, Nick Martinez, or Yusei Kikuchi’s signings. So in lieu of their entries we’ve added a couple of other intriguing free agents who were recently non tendered, and are sure to generate interest in the free agent market.

When evaluating proper fits, we consider team positional needs, publicly known geographic preferences, and the most likely course of how a player’s career is going to proceed.

My predictions are titled LO, Kris’ are titled KD. Let’s see where these players wind up!

    LO: Astros | KD: Yankees
